A contemporary police drama, the brief was to design a look for the show, without police uniforms. The decision to use civilian clothes helps support the unfolding storyline by blurring boundaries and challenging assumptions about the characters.

A world of colour and texture replaced uniform for each character and crowd grouping. The opposing qualities of two detectives, Geddes and Agnew are reflected in their costumes. One shabby, crumpled and pale, the other neat, tailored and dark. Immigrant workers processing condemned meat have sharply contrasted looks with those in the official abattoir. The immigrants wear home made solutions to protective clothing, with the official workers dressed in hygienic whites.
